First, Brown Books released the new hardcover version of my mystery book, Chase Against Time, on March 15th. To celebrate the book’s release, I will be hosting a Twitter Launch Party on Wednesday, March 28th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Pacific time. During the event I will be giving away free copies of the Chase Against Time Teaching Guide, chatting with guests, answering questions, and sharing the latest news and reviews about the book. We will be using the hashtag #ChaseLaunch for easy communication during the party. Virtual refreshments will be provided. I am also in the process of arranging a book giveaway on goodreads.com. If we’re not already connected on Twitter and goodreads, please find me.
Second, I am also celebrating the release of Changing Kids’ Lives One Quote at a Time. I published both the e-book and paperback versions of the book via accurance.com and lulu.com. Though there was no “official†release date, in my mind the book was officially released when it first appeared on amazon.com, and that happened a short time ago. Originally, the two books were set to come out several months apart, but sometimes in life things don’t go according to plan, and I’m happy to be releasing two books in the same month.
I would like to thank everyone who has already posted a book review on amazon and goodreads. In addition, I would like to thank those of you who have welcomed me on your teaching and writing blogs. So many of you have done features, written reviews, conducted interviews, and allowed me to post guest blog articles, and I am very grateful.
For those of you who live in the Los Angeles area, I have Barnes & Noble Book Talk Events planned, and you are cordially invited to attend. This Sunday I will be at the Marina Del Rey store at 2:30 p.m. At 6:00 on April 20th, I will speak at the Santa Monica store on the 3rd Street Promenade, and on April 27th, I will be at the Manhattan Beach store. I have scheduled several events at local elementary schools. I’m always open to more, so if you know of any schools or stores that might be interested in having an event, please let me know.
Finally, I have had a blast communicating with students who are already reading Chase Against Time and blogging about it in school. I very much enjoy reading and responding to the great comments the kids make. If you know of any teachers or students who blog about books, please let me know.
Have a terrific weekend, and thanks again for all the encouragement and support for my new ventures.
